Dentist Overview
Dr. Marta, as her patients call her, has an extraordinary way of communicating with them. She loves to have parents involved with the children’s dental care. That is where the success of a happy healthy smile begins.
Parents have their own anxieties about dental treatment, Dr Marta helps to sooth that anxiety to have a better success rate with children’s behavior management. A lot of the wording about dental treatment is changed for the children, in order not to create anxiety to the patients.
She has enjoyed sports throughout her life and as child participated in swimming, volleyball dancing. During dental school she enjoyed tennis and jogging. Still to day the memories of growing up as a team player has always been present. At the time, she still jogs and is a great cheerleader to her patients.
A year after she graduated from the School of Dentistry of Puerto Rico, one of few American Dental Association approved dental schools out of mainland, she was chosen to join the Olympic Committee of Puerto Rico and work in the Olympic Village in the Sports Medicine facilities.
She was the head of the dental clinic and exercised as a team dentist as well.
She took care of all the athletes that were chosen to participate in local national and international competitions, as well as the children who were school boarding in the Center for training as future Olympians from 7th to 12 th grade. Participating with young athletes’ Olympic dreams has taught Dr Marta patience, perseverance and compassion that has helped her treat patients in a caring way. Pediatric dentistry is her passion and what keeps her going every day.
Practice Overview
Our dental practice provides a fun , enthusiastic and relaxing environment. Children have their own pace and that is very important to us. We do not hurry and go. We do take our time with our patients... At times, some little ones take more time than others and we ask you to be patient with, we are with your child!
